Private Equity funds in Norway 2023Activity Report 2023

Norwegian funds raised a total of NOK 29.5 billion in 2023. Fundraising in the venture and seed segment declined by almost 75 percent, from NOK 14.9 billion in 2022, to NOK 3.9 billion in 2023. Fundraising in the buyout segment was more or less unchanged from 2022 to 2023.

Fundraising levels have been growing in later years. 2022 saw a record high amount raised by Norwegian fund managers, more than doubling the amount raised from years such as 2020 and 2016. Despite a reduction of 26 percent from the record year of 2022, fundraising in 2023 was more than 68 percent higher than any year before 2021.
